EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE

2001- present Community Artist

I believe that everyone should be given opportunity to access practical arts workshops, so I work as a freelance artist working with those who have complex neuro-degenerative conditions, are socially isolated, have physical and mental difficulties, are older, or are vulnerable.

I also facilitate arts workshops for those who would like to explore visual arts but have no previous experience or people who wish to update their skills. I offer a variety of exploratory visual arts workshops, that include a range of materials and mediums. These workshops are not prescriptive but offer opportunities to work individually and intuitively in a supportive environment. These are often run through my Red Earth Arts studio 4, the Old Cottage Hospital, The Homend Ledbury HR8 1ED

AWARDS

‘Everyone Matters’ Arts Council England grant 2014-2015 Artist in Residence Forbury Care Home, Leominster

Arts Connection – Arts Council of Wales 2012 Facilitated a three month ‘mural’ project/ Art and Health with patients undergoing dialysis at Welshpool Hospital, collaborating with Jonny Rose.

‘Arts Cases’ Arts Council England grant 2004-2005 an interactive art and spoken word travelling exhibition featuring Hereford legends and history, collaborating with writer Guy Malkerson, that travelled to local museums and schools in Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire

 Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarship 1998-1999 Artist in Residence for 12 months San Francisco State University, USA.
